Discover the Meaning of Functional Beauty With Biorejuvenation
Dr. Kevan Petterson, DNP, ARNP

KMP Aesthetics patients are discovering how form and function translate to beauty. By using patients’ ever-changing aesthetic concerns as clues, Dr. Kevan has been creating custom bio-rejuvenation protocols for his patients. These clues often point to the medical reasons for the premature aging of the tissue. During the examination part of the appointment for bio-rejuvenation, Dr. Kevan will first ask what aesthetic concerns the patient might have on their face, neck, or body. He then will ask a series of questions (seemingly unrelated to aesthetic medicine) that will cue him in to inflammation and tension-related tissue changes that may point to an area that experienced a high level of injury or stress at some point in the patient’s life.
Dr Kevan notes, “When we use the body’s Tension Lines and inflammation banding as a road map, we can discover a wider array of possibilities for aesthetic rejuvenation than we ever thought possible using older ‘point-and-shoot’ models of practice.”
He adds, “Patients sometimes seem confused as to why I am asking them about their upper back/shoulder/scapula pain and mobility, and how it has inhibited their physical performance throughout their lives. Areas of original physical trauma and injury are storehouses for inflammation and tension. These can be converted to usable kinetic energy for healing the tissues related to their cosmetic concerns like submental fullness, jowls, heavy nasolabial folds, soft jawline, and creping skin with etched wrinkles. Patients are empowered knowing they are turning their long-standing struggles into a second chance at confidence through bio-rejuvenation.” Now, there is a health and wellness-focused answer to what could only be fillers and facelifts.
Usually, these treatments stack over time and combine Dr Kevan’s favorite bio-rejuvenators: PDGF+, and PDRN (Salmon Sperm Exosomes) with classic aesthetic dermatology tools like Hyaluronic Acid Fillers (Voluma, RHA® Redensity) and Neuromodulators (BOTOX Cosmetic®, DAXXIFY™). He uses these in an unconventional way to redistribute tensile tissue strength and muscle tension and contractility, to create a bio-adaptive system that keeps the body from compensating by offloading tension and shortening results. Dr. Kevan explains, “When all of the contributing areas of the body are considered and supported at the correct layer and strength for that individual patient, the system stays both adaptive and sustains itself more easily. This promotes long-term healing that extends beyond just the intended treatment area of concern. By layering bio-rejuvenation treatments instead of “band-aid” treatments, my patients’ tissues are effectively aging in reverse.”
