How Long Does the JUVÉDERM® Treatment Take?
Since a JUVÉDERM® treatment session is typically completed within 30 to 45 minutes, many of our patients visit our office during their lunch hour. We also offer a topical numbing cream and lidocaine local anesthesia for patients who wish to maximize their comfort during treatment. When selected, topical numbing usually adds about 15 minutes to the total treatment time. For any patient who wishes to take advantage of this offer, our topical numbing service is complimentary. Nitrous oxide is available upon advanced request for an additional fee. Be sure to arrive 15 minutes early for your appointment and alert the front desk with your intent to numb early so maximum comfort can be achieved.
What Results Can I Expect After JUVÉDERM® Treatment?
After JUVÉDERM® treatment, our patients typically report that they look more energetic, rested, and youthful. JUVÉDERM® results usually last six to eight months, though some patients enjoy their results for up to one year.

Is JUVÉDERM® Treatment Painful?
Most patients report that JUVÉDERM® treatment is well-tolerated. Our team values your comfort, so we offer complimentary topical numbing solutions that can help make the treatment process more pleasant. Additionally, the upgraded XC line of JUVÉDERM® products—which KMP Aesthetics offers to our patients at no extra cost—contains lidocaine, a local anesthetic that helps soothe the skin during and after the procedure.
What Are the Common Side Effects of JUVÉDERM® Treatment?
Throughout your treatment, your safety and comfort are our top priorities. Some patients may experience tenderness, bruising, or swelling at the injection site immediately after treatment; however, these effects typically dissipate within a few days. The majority of our patients return to their normal daily activities as soon as they leave our office. In a very small number of patients, side effects may last up to two weeks. Patients who are sensitive or allergic to Lidocaine or Xylocaine should notify our team during the consultation process.
What Can I Do to Reduce the Side Effects of JUVÉDERM® Treatment?
Certain medications and supplements can thin the blood and, therefore, increase both the likelihood and the duration of any side effects. If you regularly take aspirin, ibuprofen, or fish oil, you can refrain from taking these medications and supplements one week prior to your appointment to reduce your chances of side effects. Additionally, taking Arnica Montana sublingually after your JUVÉDERM® treatment can abbreviate any side effects you may experience. We do not recommend you discontinue taking blood thinners if your physician has prescribed their use.

Allergan, the maker of JUVÉDERM®, provides before-and after photos of patients who have used these treatments to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, creases, and folds.
